    Daniel Wardle is the Manager of the Software Engineering team at Inovor Technologies, where he has contributed for over six years. Starting with Inovor Technologies’ first satellite contract, Daniel has been instrumental in guiding the company's growth through each phase—from design, build, and testing to the current satellite operational in orbit. Within his role, Daniel oversees the high-level software design for spacecraft systems, supporting his team in developing robust solutions. Additionally, he also served as the project lead for the SpIRIT satellite (the first ever Australian Space Agency funded satellite), a role that has evolved from defining mission requirements through to leading platform operations and commissioning.

In this talk we will explore the transformative role of open-source technology in the lifecycle of spacecraft operations. From missing planning and autonomous tasking to efficient post-launch operations, this talk highlights the advantages of using open-source tools to enhance flexibility, collaboration, and innovation in space missions.
